Day01

Day 1

Arrival in Manila

TRIPGULLAK representative at NAIA with name-board and a plan – the only two things a traveller arriving in Manila's busy arrivals hall really needs. The city introduces itself through the windshield: jeepneys painted in neon saints and football players, balete trees growing out of colonial walls, smell of rice and diesel and jasmine uniquely Manila at any hour. Check in, freshen up, first evening on your own terms. Makati streets lined with dining options – crispy lechon at a backstreet restaurant to craft beer establishments open late and loud.

Best Time to Visit

Dry Season (Nov–May): Ideal for travel. Clear skies, calm seas, vibrant festivals. December and January are particularly pleasant. Wet Season (Jun–Oct): Typhoon season. Boracay and El Nido can be significantly affected. Honest Recommendation: November through April is the optimal window for Boracay and El Nido island hopping. December through February is peak season – book 3–4 months ahead. March and April offer superb weather with slightly fewer crowds. Avoid June–October for island hopping as the habagat (southwest monsoon) frequently cancels lagoon tours.

What to Pack
